Industry Interference in Public Food and Nutrition Policy Hub

The Industry Interference in Public Food and Nutrition Policy Hub of the Latin American and Caribbean Nutrition and Health Community of Practice (Colansa) (hereinafter referred to as the “Hub”) aims to bring together researchers, legal professionals, and other interested parties with the aim of promoting the exchange of information and experiences and strengthening the evidence base related to conflicts of interest and industry interference in public policies on food and nutrition in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

Guide to alert reports

The Alert System is a collective and collaborative space for sharing situations related to conflicts of interest and attempts at industry interference. The Alert Report is a tool for sharing and discussing cases of attempted industry interference in these policies.

Have you detected attempts by industry to interfere in public food and nutrition policies in your country?

Follow the step-by-step instructions to report alerts to the Colansa Industry Interference in Food and Nutrition Policy Hub:

  • Gather information about the case (which industry is involved, which policy was targeted, what tactics and arguments were used)

     

  • Share this information with other Hub members by email: nodointerferencia@idec.org.br
    • In this email, you can request Colansa member organizations in to write letters of condemnation. Further, you can ask members to share measures that can be taken to combat this type of interference or responses to the tactics or arguments used, among other needs that you identify at the time.

 

  • Share this case at the next Hub member meeting.
