On September 29, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm (GMT-3), the members of Colansa will meet to discuss the need and ways to create healthy food environments that contribute to the prevention of childhood obesity in the Latin American region.
The event will be attended by Janine Coutinho, coordinator of the Healthy and Sustainable Food Program at the Brazilian Institute for Consumer Protection, Carolina Batis, researcher at the National Institute of Public Health in Mexico, Melissa Jensen, postdoctoral fellow at the Center Rudd for Food Policy & Obesity at the University of Connecticut; and Eric Crosbie, assistant professor at the School of Public Health of the University of Nevada.
On the occasion, panelists will address issues such as food prices, children’s advertising and the role of the private sector and commerce in childhood obesity. The event is open to the public and will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel Alimentando Políticas.
