On May 21st, Colansa invites to a side event at the World Health Assembly: “Monitoring Digital Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes: Open Data & Global Accountability”.
As is widely known, digital environments are rapidly becoming the main platform for the promotion of breast-milk substitutes around the world. This scenario calls for urgent action to regulate digital marketing and to strengthen policies that protect breastfeeding as a vital practice for child development and public health. In this context, we have been closely following the draft resolution on “Regulation of the Digital Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes,” which will be discussed at the upcoming WHA 78, presented by Brazil and Mexico, with support from several other countries.
