Food Systems: debating advances and paths for Latin America

The online seminar “Food Systems: debating advances and paths for Latin America” is organized by Idec, the Brazilian Institute for Consumer Protection, and Colansa, the Latin American and Caribbean Nutrition and Health Community of Practice, with support from the International Development Research Center of Canada (IDRC) and the Wellcome Trust.

The event was attended by representatives of civil society, governmental organizations, governments and the academy. The main results of new research on food systems carried out in Brazil, Argentina and Chile were presented, with proposals for pathways to build healthier and more sustainable models of food production, distribution and consumption in the Latin American region.

The webinar agenda was also dedicated to the celebration of Colansa’s one year anniversary. The coalition of partners from Latin America and the Caribbean shared achievements in 2021 and examples of the importance of strengthening networks of partners and actors to promote a food systems transition.
