Preventing conflicts of interest in food and nutrition policies in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Latin American and Caribbean Nutrition and Health Community of Practice (Colansa), in partnership with the Brazilian Institute for Consumer Protection (Idec) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), promotes the webinar “Conflict prevention of interests in food and nutrition policies in Latin America and the Caribbean” on June 23, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm (GMT-3).

The event proposes a debate on the forms of industry interference and conflicts of interest that make it difficult to advance effective measures to promote healthy and adequate nutrition in order to prevent and control obesity in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

Members of Colansa, public managers, health professionals, students, researchers and civil society are invited to participate. The panel of panelists will be composed of representatives of Colansa, Idec, PAHO, Coalición Latinoamérica Saludable (CLAS), Healthy Caribbean Coalition (HCC), Brazilian Nutrition Association (Asbran) and Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública (INSP).
