Colansa and Brazilian delegation participate in the launch of the EAT-Lancet report

On October 3, during the Stockholm Food Forum, the EAT-Lancet Commission released an update to its 2019 report on healthy diets that are also beneficial for the environment. One of the studies included in EAT-Lancet 2025 indicates that following the so-called Planetary Health Diet (PHD) can reduce the risk of premature death by up to 27%.

Colansa was represented by researcher Camila Corvalán (CIAPEC-INTA-CHILE) in a coalition group on food systems transformation. A delegation from the Brazilian Ministry of Social Development was also present. “The Brazilian school feeding program was highlighted as a good practice; it was moving to hear from them,” said Camila.

According to the report, a healthy diet, not only for humans but also for the planet, includes a variety of foods, such as legumes, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. It’s important to reduce the consumption of meat, dairy, and sugar. “Food systems generate about 30% of global greenhouse gas emissions,” emphasizes Johan Rockström, co-chair of the commission and director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.
