To promote dialogue and raise awareness about the role of local food solutions in improving nutrition and health, the side event “Local Food Solutions for Healthy Diets: Strengthening Urban and Peri-Urban Agri-food Systems” will be held next Wednesday (October 22) at the 53rd Plenary Session of the Committee on World Food Security.
The objective is to exchange experiences and good practices in multisectoral governance of urban and peri-urban food systems implemented in various regions, considering the role of municipal and federal governments, as well as civil society organizations.
One of the participants will be Dr. Damián Verzeñassi, Director of the Institute of Socio-Environmental Health at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Rosario (Argentina), and member of Colansa and the Civil Association of Socio-Environmental Health.
